A New Level of Relationship

I wonder what you have enjoyed today, in your part of the world.

If you regularly watch the News on television, you could understandably become depressed, as their is so much bad news going on in the world.

On the other hand there are so many beautiful and wonderful things to see and enjoy. This week on Facebook, my friends have posted amazing photos of scenic towns and ports from all over the world. They have also put up beautiful photos of exotic birds and flowers. Even if you live in a part of the world where there are not many beautiful trees or plants, animals or birds, there are still sunny skies (or maybe rain), ever changing cloud formations, mountains, rivers and oceans and wonderful demonstrations of the creative power of God.images (2)

The Bible tells us:  The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. – Psalm 19:1 and

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. – Romans 1:20

God has provided an abundance of beautiful things, to show us His nature. He is not only a God of great power, but also of love and compassion, beauty and abundance and as well as all that, He is a God Who knows you completely and loves and accepts you just as you are. It really is amazing!

He knows us – but He wants us to know Him – on a deep level of relationship. He not only cares about the circumstances of your life, but he cares about your hopes and dreams and desires. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, He made an open door for us to come into His Presence any time we like – to sit and have a chat, to bring Him our concerns (for ourselves and others), but also just to enjoy His company.

Unfortunately, many times He waits for us to come and talk to Him, but we are too busy with earthly things. It’s sad when we take this great privilege for granted and fail to spend time with our heavenly Father.

We need to stir up our desire for God. Desire is a very strong emotion.  It will take us where we dared not go before.  Used   well, it will enlarge our capacity for God.  It will draw us into the spiritual realm where the Holy Spirit can teach us spiritual realities.  Desire motivates us to seek the Lord with all our heart, to learn of Him, to know Him.

‘One thing have I desired of the Lord – that will I seek after’….Psalm 27:4.

‘That I might know Him, and the power of His resurrection’.  Phil.3:10

‘My soul longs for the courts of the Lord’  Psalm 84:2

Desire then, is the KEY to deeper relationship with God.  Desire is so important, that we must protect it at all costs and use it at every opportunity.  It is a reusable key, that will open the doors to each new level of relationship with God.
