I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.” And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.” – Minnie Louise Haskins

Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal”.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. This is a deliberate choice. God offers us the opportunity to come boldly to the Throne of Grace. He removed the barriers when He tore apart the curtain of the temple, which hung between the Holy place, and the most Holy place where only the High Priest could enter.

God our heavenly Father makes Himself totally accessible to His children. We can come freely into His Presence anytime we like, and He is pleased to have us there. He wants to listen to what’s happening in your day. He wants to hear all your joys and sorrows, to listen to your requests and answer them in His most perfect way. Those who learn this secret will come to Him often, to sit at His feet and tell Him everything. He never gets tired of listening to you. He never turns His back on you or thinks that what you have to say is not important. He loves you to be with Him as much as you like. And He shows favour to those who love to be in His Presence. But it’s your choice.

As we ascend into His Presence, the weights of the world drop off. It is a place of lightness and joy. In His Presence, the angels are always singing. The Glory of God shines from every face, and there is deep peace and satisfaction. He wants us to come close, not to stand back and observe, but to enter in and come in close.
