LIFE LESSONS

If I could pass on the most important truth I have learned in my life, it is this:

the only safe place in this world, is in the Arms of God. Someone else has said:

"It is better to be with God in a storm, than anywhere else without Him". The road may be rough and the going may get tough, but the end is glorious. The end is eternal life and heavenly rewards - love, joy peace and satisfaction forevermore.

My advice to every person is this: dedicate your life to the Lord as young as you possibly can and never, ever swerve from that commitment. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, delight yourself in Him and in His ways, obey Him to the fullest extent that you are able and cling to His Word and His Ways all the days of your life. Only then will you live life without regret and freely enter into the joy of the Lord. Then you will know you are safe in Him, no matter what happens.

We humans tend to think that when trouble comes, when we are sick or suffering physically or emotionally, that God doesn't care - or that He's moved away from us. That's what the disciples thought when they were caught in the middle of a terrible storm that threatened to sink their boat and drown them all. What they hadn't understood, but were just about to learn, was that they were perfectly safe, because Jesus was in the boat.

Why was He asleep in the back of the boat while all this was going on? Because He knew the very same truth I am wanting to show you. He could rest and sleep because He knew without any shadow of a doubt, that He was in God's will and therefore nothing could happen to Him outside of God's will.

The trouble with us is that as soon as we see trouble or pain, we get frightened, and we want to escape from it. As soon as it looks as though we are going to lose something precious, we want to hang on to it. What we need to realise is, that if we are truly living 'under the shadow of His Wings' we can rest in His love and know that everything will be OK. Or do you seriously think that the enemy can do any real harm to a child of God who is living daily in His Presence?

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Now I'm very sorry about this, but the apostle Paul does not say we will not face trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword...

But then come the words of comfort:

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  - Romans 8:31-39.

So, lift your vision higher, raise your expectations.  This is a day and an hour when God is opening new doors for the gospel and opening hearts to receive it.  He is raising His people to a new level of walking in victory, where the enemy will be soundly defeated on many fronts.  The battle is raging in so many parts of the world, but church is rising at the same time.

This is the beginning of ‘the Day of His power’.  God is going to demonstrate His Glory in surprising ways.  Be ready to act on His prompting.  Be ready to move in faith.  Don’t look for the spectacular things, although you will see those things, but look for the supernatural power of God at work in every situation of your life.
